Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13 NIV

Not long after saying these words Jesus fulfilled them by laying His life down for us. There is an old Southern Gospel song that says, "I believe He died for me, so I believe I'll live for Him." You may never be asked to actually give up your life and die for someone, but we have opportunities everyday to give of our lives.
To fulfill what Jesus has said to us means that we can lay down areas of our lives for others. We can use our talents and gifts to serve others. We can give of our time, when directed by the Holy Spirit, to make a difference in someone's life. We can give some of the things we have to those who have little or nothing. We can be there for someone who is going through a difficult time. There are lots of ways to "lay down our lives."
Seek God today, find out what He is leading you to do, and then act on that prompting. We are fulfilling scripture, honoring God, and making a difference in the lives of others when we do this.
